Summary of Position
Assist the Branch Manager in managing and coordinating the operations of a full service branch and subsidiary satellite branches to effectively service Tower Federal Credit Union (TFCU) members. Ensure quality control within the branch to be in compliance with Tower's policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations. Supervise the branch staff to provide a trained, motivated, and professional team capable of cross selling appropriate credit union products and services that meet members’ needs.
Provide for the physical security and operations of the branch to safeguard assets and member accounts forms written appraisals on branch staff. Exercises three or more of the duties of a Branch Manager on an ongoing basis. Interact with potential, new, and existing Members and provide all types of share and loan services. Accept Membership applications and determine membership eligibility.
Accept Loanliner and Mortgage applications. Cross-sell a full range of financial products and services. Perform administrative duties, including system data entry and duties.
- Coordinating and managing the daily activities of the branch to ensure that they provide the appropriate products and services to meet the financial needs of Credit Union members.
- Acts as Branch Manager on an ongoing basis.
- Flexibility to work additional hours for reasons including resolving branch balancing issues, staffing issues, testing new releases, and providing access to the branch during non-business hours to support credit union needs.
- Daily interaction with staff to provide leadership, guidance, coaching and training to develop a staff capable of referring and cross selling appropriate products and services.
- Responsible for monitoring effective cross selling of products and services.
- Maintains accounting accuracy through daily balancing of teller cash drawers, vault, ATMs, monetary instruments, transaction records and reports. Implements internal auditing procedures to control items and records within the branch.
- Provides for the physical security of the branch.
- Presents written appraisals on branch staff.
- Manages and coordinates the daily operation of the branch to ensure time sensitive functions are completed in a timely manner.
- Provides subordinates with daily coaching and guidance.
- Informs staff of new services and organizational goals as they pertain to branch operations.
- Manages and supports sales and service activities.
- Provides guidance and uses independent discretion to address member needs; counsels and advises using knowledge of financial services.
- Communicates and upholds TFCU policies and procedures. Responsible for implementation and control of policies and procedures.
- Full knowledge and approval authority for Tower products and services to assist subordinates and members in resolving questions and interpreting policy and procedures.
- Responsible for making independent decisions without back-up support of headquarters (including evenings and weekends).
- Utilize delegated authority with more frequent complex exception decisions.
- Serve multiple (SEG) employees with more complex servicing needs compared to individual (DOD) sponsor employees.
- Increase awareness of security measures, concerns and operating procedures due to base personnel not guarding them.
- Manage drive‑up windows.
- Handle non-member transactions.
- Schedule staff.
- Provide all types of share and loan services.
- Bachelors plus 1-2 years of experience or 5 years related experience.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from a group of subordinates or members or superiors.
- Ability to reconcile and balance transaction records.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods; dexterity and vision to operate a variety of office equipment.
- Ability to lift coin bags up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Ability to work hours as needed, which may extend beyond the defined work schedule when operating conditions dictate.
