Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum

Mitie is the UK's leading facilities management company. As an Apprentice Forklift Engineer you will help support the servicing, repair and maintenance of a wide range of lift trucks and powered access vehicles. This apprenticeship is a 3‑year Level 3 programme delivered by SMB Group.

• Inspect, service and maintain a range of lift trucks and powered access vehicles, including manual, electric, diesel, LPG and hybrid‑powered machines.
• Diagnose and repair faults on tracked, wheeled, vertical mast, scissor lift and articulated boom equipment.
• Assist with routine and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Work directly with customers and colleagues ensuring high‑quality service and compliance with HSEQ standards.
• Participate in scheduled college block releases every 12 weeks and attend on‑site training.

• A keen interest in engineering and maintenance.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Dedication to completing the full 3‑year apprenticeship.
• GCSEs in Maths, Science and English (Grades 4–9) or Scottish National 5 certificates (Grade A–C) – certificates must be provided at interview.
• No prior experience required – enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
