Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
THE EMPLOYER IS: ICSS LTDThe Portable Appliance Tester within ICSS Ltd is responsible for conducting routine inspections and testing of electrical appliances to ensure they are safe to use. This role involves traveling to various client sites across N.I., R.O.I. and Mainland U.K, performing tests, and maintaining accurate records of all inspections.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough inspections and testing of portable electrical appliances in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Identify and report any faults or hazards found during testing.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests conducted, including test results and any actions taken using company templates.
- Ensure all daily paperwork requirements are complete on Sim Pro scheduling software, updating each job status throughout the day.
- Ensure test results are downloaded and submitted on completion of each job record.
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained in good working order.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to PAT testing.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
- Compiling reports as directed.
- Willing to travel and avail of company-supplied accommodation to facilitate delivery of works across ROI and beyond when required.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good ability to use Microsoft packages on a handheld device.
- Full valid UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to lift and carry testing equipment and appliances and train in their operation.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including offices and industrial sites.
- Willingness to learn, develop, and take on new challenges, including availability for out-of-hours support as needed.
- Relevant certification in Portable Appliance Testing (City & Guilds 2377) or willingness to train and pass within first 6 months of employment.
