Overview
The global responsibility of this position and all positions within the department of Imaging Services is to provide quality diagnostic images, comfort, and care for patients and employees a part of this, all employees are responsible for seeking ways to provide input to continuously improve our operation and procedures. The radiologic technologist is responsible for reviewing radiologic requests for appropriateness, verification of physician orders, and performance of the procedure in a safe, caring and timely manner.
In addition, the radiologic technologist must consistently produce quality images for the radiologist to interpret and report to the requesting physician. He/she must maintain a high level of professional expertise and assumes the responsibility for professional growth and development. The art and practice of diagnostic imaging requires in depth knowledge of human growth, human anatomy and physiology, proper anatomical positioning, normal and abnormal pathology and physiological responses, disabilities, manifestations of diseases and trauma.
- Review radiologic requests for appropriateness and verify physician orders.
- Perform radiologic procedures in a safe, caring, and timely manner.
- Consistently produce quality images for the radiologist to interpret and report to the requesting physician.
- Maintain a high level of professional expertise and pursue professional growth and development.
- Graduation from a Radiology education program under the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
- ARRT registration as Radiologic Technologist or registry eligible with successful completion of certification within 6 months of hire.
- Current Washington State DOH Radiologic Technologist Certification.
- Current American Heart Association BLS.
- Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) from The American Society of Orthopedic Professionals.
- ARRT Bone Density (BD) endorsement.
Wage: Wage range currently starts at $36.39/hour and goes up to $55.15/hour. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience.
FTE: Per Diem
