The CRE will be given a schedule that will include days, evenings and weekends as for the program. This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position, working 19 weekly hours.
Essential Functions:
- Create a faith formation yearly calendar.
- Assist the Director of Faith Formation with planning and promoting of the programs.
- Be present with the Director of Faith Formation at all events to include Faith Formation programs, sacramental programs, children's liturgy programs, vacation bible school and family faith events.
- Procure all materials and supplies to the volunteers with the program.
- Follow Safe Environment requirements for adult/youth volunteers according to the archdiocese guidelines.
- Organization of registration and re-registration of students in ministry platform.
- Assist DRE with recruitment and directions of volunteer leaders.
- Procurement and care of PREP materials including textbooks and supplies for the program.
- Promotion and maintenance of ongoing communication with parents and leaders through a yearly calendar of events, handbook and meetings.
- Ensure the Safe Environment requirements (VIRTUS certification) policies and mandates for Parish Faith Formation volunteers are in compliance with Archdiocesan standards.
- Assist the DRE in the annual budget preparation process as well as the management of the budget.
- Bachelor's degree in theology, religious education, pastoral studies, or related field from an accredited college or university or commensurate parish experience.
- Relevant work experience and Religious Education as a leader, teacher or volunteer will be highly considered.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church and parish and its mission.
- Knowledge of diocesan guidelines and procedures.
- Individual must have well developed "people skills" in interacting with all they engage.
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.
- Working knowledge of social media platforms that work with parents and families is helpful.
- Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing and able to participate fully in the Sacramental life of the Church.
- Possess good written and oral communication and organizational skills.
- Individuals must have the ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
- Develop a working knowledge of Christ Life.
