Cortez - Site Services Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for keeping mining facilities functioning and in good order. Work includes outdoor, mine site duties which may involve exposure to large equipment, working on uneven surfaces, and operating in extreme temperatures. A successful candidate must demonstrate safety as a priority.

Personal protective equipment is required when performing this work.

• Safely and effectively perform maintenance on industrial, commercial and residential facilities.
• Safely and effectively perform facility repair and remodeling.
• Safely and effectively perform concrete flat work, tile, drywall, painting and welding.
• Safely and effectively operate excavation equipment and tools.
• Safely and effectively perform roof repairs.
• Safely and effectively perform door and lockset repairs.
• Work closely with HVAC and plumbing technicians to perform needed replacement and repairs.
• Accurately read blueprints for facilities.

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Excavation equipment experience preferred.
• 2 years previous construction and maintenance experience is preferred.
• Valid drivers’ license is required.
• 4 years mining experience is preferred.
• Overhead door repair experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 90 pounds required.
• Perform job responsibilities with integrity under minimal to no supervision.
• Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy required.
• Excellent organizational, time management skills required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently required.
• Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills, with a courteous and pleasant customer service focus required.
• Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills required.
• Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate required.
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards required.
• Willingness to work weekends and possible overtime required.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions required.
