is looking for Veterinary Assistants to join our team. Our busy, full-service mixed animal practice is seeking dedicated team members who are looking to utilize their skills and knowledge.
Full-time or Part-time shifts available.

• Salary: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
• Schedule: Full-time, Four 10-hour shifts per week. Primarily weekdays with rotating weekend support. Part-time, flexible scheduling, including weekend coverage.
• On-Call: After hours, rotating, on-call scheduling required.

Elko Veterinary Clinic has served Elko, Nevada and the surrounding communities since 1953. The practice has grown from a single veterinarian mobile practice to the six veterinarians bustling mixed animal practice that it is today. If you are that veterinary assistant who is looking for an exciting, fast-paced, fun, energetic veterinary hospital then we look forward to hearing from you!

• 1+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant preferred
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Willingness to learn and be trained in all aspects of veterinary medicine and patient care
• Passion for working with large and small animals, birds, exotics, and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
• Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Collect laboratory samples for urinalysis, cytology, bloodwork, fecal analysis
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
• Surgical set-up, pre-operative and post-operative surgical care, sterilizing surgical instruments, maintaining aseptic technique
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology positioning
• Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment
• Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members
