Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg Combination unit in Elko, NV, requiring at least 1 year of experience and NV licensure for a 13-week night shift assignment.

Job Details

• Acute Care Services unit in a Joint Commission-accredited hospital setting,

• 23-bed Med/Surg Combination unit serving pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients,

• Specialty areas covered include medicine, surgery, telemetry, and pediatrics,

• Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD, CHF, pre/post cath lab, orthopedic and general surgery, and acute respiratory failure in adult and pediatric patients,

• Patient ratio of 1:5,

• Equipment includes Omnicell medication dispensers, Baxter pumps, Masimo monitors, and GE Telemetry Monitoring system,

• EMR: MEDHOST,

• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,

• Every other weekend required,

• Potential to float to other departments based on patient census and departmental needs,

• On-call requirements as per contract,

Job Requirements

• Active NV RN license required,

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required,

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required,

• ACLS required (candidates have 60 days after start date to obtain),

• PALS required (candidates have 90 days after start date to obtain),

• RQI certifications are not accepted for ACLS or PALS,

• Med/Surg and telemetry experience preferred,

• Social Security number required for consideration,

• Date of birth required for consideration,

• Active Nursys/licensure verification required at time of consideration,

• COVID vaccination card required,

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and be eligible for this position,

• Candidates who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible,

• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment,

• Fit testing for respiratory protection is available on-site for travelers,

• No mandatory scrub color; any color scrubs are acceptable,

• Elko, NV is located approximately 3 hours from Salt Lake City and offers outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling, as well as local cultural events
