Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Combination unit in Elko, NV, with night shift hours and at least 1 year of experience required.

Job Details

• Works in a 23-bed Acute Care Services unit encompassing Medicine, Surgery, Telemetry, and Pediatrics,

• Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients,

• Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD, CHF, pre/post cath lab, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, and acute respiratory failure (adult and pediatric),

• Patient ratio is 1:5,

• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts,

• 36 hours per week,

• Every other weekend required,

• Floating to other departments possible based on patient census and staffing needs,

• Equipment used includes Omnicell Medication Dispenser, Baxter pumps, Masimo Monitors, and GE Telemetry Monitoring system,

• EMR: MEDHOST,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active NV RN license required,

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required,

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required,

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required,

• BLS required,

• ACLS required (up to 60 days after start date to obtain),

• PALS required (up to 90 days after start date to obtain),

• RQI certifications are not accepted,

• Med/Surg and telemetry experience preferred,

• Social Security Number required for consideration,

• Date of birth required for consideration,

• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel placement,

Additional Information

• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months,

• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment,

• Fit testing is provided on-site for travelers,

• Weekly orientations are available,

• No mandatory scrub color - any color scrubs are acceptable,

• COVID vaccination card required,

• Elko, NV is located approximately 3 hours from Salt Lake City and offers outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling, as well as local cultural events and casinos,
