Live-in Caretaker Couple or Independent Contractor (Year-round duties with FREE housing)

Rock Lake United Church Camp & Rock Lake Campground @ Elko, BC Permanent Part-Time (Seasonal) Contract Position

• Report to designated members of the Rock Lake United Church Camp Society.
• Maintain yearly occupancy at the residence provided at Rock Lake United Church Camp.
• Comply with site Rules & Regulations, Caretakers Contract & Caretakers Duties. Preferred candidate will have Christian beliefs and the following qualifications:
• Grade 12 graduate or equivalent
• Previous caretaking experiences an asset but not necessary
• Some basic maintenance skills (carpentry, electrical, plumbing). Trades or contracting skills are an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills
• Ability to complete required paperwork
• Class 5 Driver’s license
• Basic computer & cell phone skills
• Ability to work with Board members, campers, renters, youth and hired contractors.
• Appreciation of nature and the outdoors
• Contract Criteria:
• Yearly accommodation at Rock Lake United Church Camp with compensation.
• Negotiable contract with 5-year commitment with a first year probational contract.
• Candidate encouraged to find additional winter employment in the area and During times of employment during the site open months (May-Oct.) the Caretakers’ representative must be on site when the caretaker cannot be on site.
• Approved candidates must agree to having a Criminal Record Check for employment and yearly United church camps.

Salary (negotiable) 21, 000-$27,000 with Free Housing ($55,000 + compensation package). Shortlisted candidates will receive a site interview and a Board interview before hiring.
