Summary: Responsible for repair, commissioning, upfit and training of Normet Equipment in a safe and timely manner by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities- Conducts all tasks associated with the inspection, auditing, servicing, upfit, repair and/or overhaul of Normet’s new and used equipment and associated systems to the required standards and specifications.
- Maintains complete documentation for all machine and equipment regarding upfits, repairs, rebuilds and upgrades.
- Travels to customer locations to complete repairs as directed and in a timely and professional manner.
- Performs repairs or service on customer equipment at mine sites.
- Commissions new equipment at customer’s job site ensuring all equipment is in good working order, and mine personnel are trained on the proper use of the equipment. (At times there may be a need to perform these duties in other areas of North America.)
- Coordinates with Manager for missing items or damaged items discovered during commissioning process. Completes production report and submits to Manager, Services Cluster.
- Offers both startup training and billable training as requested by Manager.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoot mechanical problems with the appropriate equipment to determine most efficient course of action.
- Recommends and explains additional repairs as appropriate.
- Modification and/or repair of vehicle systems including: chassis, driveline, engine, transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics.
- Testing and adjusting of all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components and circuits.
- Wears necessary safety equipment each day to include hard hats, safety glasses, proper work boots, safety harnesses and any other safety equipment needed for the assigned job.
- Act and interact professionally and effectively both within a dedicated team and while working autonomously, both internally (business) and externally (customers & subcontractors).
- Maintain Normet’s quality goals in the manufacturing area by reporting any non-conforming issues. Adding to the overall result by inputting ideas to the Continuous Improvement process.
- Finalizes repair order and completes service report in a timely manner. Coordinates with manager to ensure prompt billing of all parts, service and travel time.
- Coordinates with manager to obtain repair items, components and information as needed.
- Coordinates with manager to complete necessary warranty paperwork.
- Drives company vehicle in a safe and professional manner, observing all traffic laws and mine property regulations.
- Attend mechanical training seminars and refresher courses to ensure that skills are being refined and improved.
- Applies knowledge and abilities to perform technical repairs according to schedule.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
