Overview
This casual position is not a Law Enforcement/Security role. There are no set hours; flexible availability is ideal. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining a good working relationship with judges, court personnel, attorneys, jurors and the public and for keeping all jurors secure for trials within rigid guidelines.
Responsibilities- Setup courtroom.
- Check-in jurors.
- Keep jurors assembled & guide them through court.
- Be the liaison between the courtroom work group and the jurors.
- Coordinate daily juror activities.
- Maintain a good working relationship with the judges, court personnel, jurors and the public.
- Knowledge of courtroom procedures.
- Keep jurors secure and handle all their needs.
- Ensure courtroom proceedings are followed to avoid a mistrial.
- Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
Zero to six months of relevant prior experience; proven experience in legal terminology.
- Responds to others' requests for basic and general information.
This position has authority to make decisions that are within detailed procedures and protocols and under close supervision. These decisions directly impact performance in the job and/or the work unit within the department, and information is provided to others for decision making.
Thinking and Problem SolvingIn relation to established procedures, protocols and policies of the County, the complexity of this job is low and challenges are relatively minimal.
