Shipping/Receiving & Loading Associate
Reports ToShipping/Receiving Lead
SummaryThe Shipping/Receiving & Loading Associate is responsible for the accurate receipt, staging, loading, inventory, and shipment of materials and finished goods in a fast-paced production environment. This role ensures product accuracy, professional driver interaction, and on-time outbound deliveries while maintaining a safe and organized dock area.
Responsibilities- Receive inbound materials; verify counts, inspect for damage, and report discrepancies
- Prepare, stage, and load outbound shipments according to production schedules and documentation
- Verify packing lists, bills of lading, and shipping documentation for accuracy
- Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment
- Maintain organized dock space, staging lanes, and shipping materials
- Coordinate with production and scheduling teams to prioritize shipments
- Communicate with drivers and carriers to ensure proper loading and accurate paperwork completion
- Properly secure loads to prevent transit damage and ensure safe transport
- Maintain inventory accuracy through scans, counts, and system updates
- Follow all safety procedures and dock compliance standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of shipping/receiving areas

- Safe forklift and material handling operation
- Team-oriented, problem-solving mindset and adaptability
- Clear and professional cross-functional communication and coordination (especially with drivers/carriers)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics environment
- 2+ years of experience operating a forklift or heavy-duty material handling machinery
- Experience in a marine manufacturing environment a plus
- ERP or inventory management system experience
- DOT shipping documentation familiarity
- Experience interacting with freight carriers and driver

Physical Demands- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to operate heavy equipment for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in outdoor environments with exposure to seasonal weather year-round
Standard manufacturing environment. Work is performed inside or outside year-round. There is exposure to dirt, dust, moderate to high noise levels, moving equipment, vibrations, and seasonal weather conditions. All necessary training and PPE will be provided.
