WORKING FOREMAN

DEPARTMENT:
Highway

HIRING RANGE: $32.69-$36.34/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK:
Monday
- Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., overtime as needed

LOCATION OF POSITION:
Elkhart County Highway Garages
-Goshen, Elkhart or New Paris

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Within County (please fill out driving page on the application)

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for supervising assigned staff, maintaining roadways and adjacent areas, and responding to public complaints.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* High school diploma or GED, must be at least 18 years of age

* Possession of and ability to maintain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required endorsements and safe driving record

* Ability to obtain and maintain Category 6 Pesticide Applicator license

* Leadership and Supervisory skills

* Practical knowledge of assigned Department trucks and equipment with ability to maintain roads and highways, complete related maintenance, and follow safety measures

* Ability to respond to emergencies from off-duty status

* Pre-employment background check and drug screen
