Candidates located in Northern Indiana, Southern Michigan or NW Ohio may work remotely or in a hybrid arrangement, depending on operational needs.
Candidates outside of these regions will be expected to relocate to Elkhart area.

Job SummaryThe Development Representative builds and strengthens relationships with Mennonite Mission Network’s financial supporters, donors and churches to support the mission and ongoing ministry of the organization. This position serves congregations and partners in Northern Indiana, Southern Michigan and Northwestern Ohio and requires familiarity or established connections within Mennonite communities in these areas.
Duties/Responsibilities- Cultivate individual Donors and Congregations.
- Develop and deepen relationships with donors and churches to support Mennonite Mission Network.
- Develop strategies for outreach to donors and congregations in consultation with the Director of Development, with the intention of growing, stewarding, and retaining their giving.
- Take responsibility for assigned database and consistently meet or exceed monthly activity goals.
- Display discretion and good judgement when meeting with donors and churches. Be an advocate for MMN.
- Acknowledge contributions promptly and appropriately for each gift.
- Work with congregations to invite support and encouragement for In Service Workers.
- Work closely with the Ministry Support Team Coach and Director of Development to identify potential funding congregations. Maintain and grow already existing support relationships.
- Strategize and schedule presentations to churches, individuals, and other ministry groups to facilitate a closer support relationship with Mennonite Mission Network.
- Participate in all team meetings and contribute to visioning, planning, and assessment of team goals.
- Complete required database input for team and individual efficiency.
- Work closely with the Constituent Engagement Team in consultation with Director of Development
- Work on special project and cross-functional teams as assigned.

QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal/human relations skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates familiarity with Mennonite networks or congregational life, especially within Northern Indiana, Southern Michigan or Northwestern Ohio.
- Aspires to collaborate in all relationships and able to forge effective, productive, and trusting relationships.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Able to interact with diplomacy and tact to express MMN’s mission vision in diverse settings.
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Prepare presentations and speak to both individuals and groups of varying sizes is required.
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management software is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to adhere to relationship documentations requirements and follow up.
- Able to work in a team setting but also to achieve individual goals.
Preferred Education And Experience
- College is preferred but not required or equivalent life experiences.
- Experience in fundraising is preferred but not required.
- Intercultural mission and service experience or bilingual ability is an asset.
Travel Requirements
Able to travel up to 60 - 80 days per year and as required.
