Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Position Type: Full Time
Position OverviewThe Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring specialized truck builds meet internal quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable safety and regulatory requirements prior to delivery. This hands‑on role supports quality at all stages of production and requires strong mechanical, electrical, and inspection skills. The ideal candidate takes pride in accuracy, consistency, and a “Right First Time” approach.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Inspect food truck builds at various stages of production.
- Verify proper installation, operation, and finish quality of:
- Heating and cooling systems
- Electrical systems and wiring
- Plumbing systems
- Structural components and interior finishes
- Ensure builds meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable codes.
- Identify defects, nonconformances, rework needs, and deviations from build specifications.
- Document inspection results and track corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Management to resolve quality issues efficiently.
- Support final inspections and provide quality sign‑off prior to unit delivery.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement on the production floor.
- Assist with documenting and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, technicians, and cross‑functional teams.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines; remain safety conscious at all times.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with production teams.
- Maintain organized inspection records and a clean, safe work area.
- Experience in quality control, manufacturing, or vehicle upfitting preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret build sheets, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail with effective problem‑solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and tracking quality issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with production and leadership teams.
- Food truck, RV, trailer, or specialty vehicle manufacturing.
- Inspection, audit, or compliance experience.
- Familiarity with safety, sanitation, or regulatory standards.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Employees in this position must be able to perform the following as part of daily manufacturing operations:
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
- Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
- Perform repetitive motions including inspecting, testing, and documenting findings.
- Work in environments that may be hot, cold, dusty, or noisy.
- Wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
- Maintain visual acuity to inspect workmanship and components and hear instructions and safety signals.
