Position Summary - Maintenance Technician (Elkhart, IN)

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all production equipment within our manufacturing facility. This includes Trumpf lasers, hydraulic presses, pneumatic systems, and fabrication machinery. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-minded, and enjoys a fast-paced, hands-on environment where every day brings new challenges.

This is a full-time, direct-hire role with full-time benefits, including PTO, 401(k), etc.

Starting Pay Range
  • $28 - $32/hr.+
Available Shift
  • Day Shift, Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on lasers, presses, and other production machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
  • Maintain and adjust laser cutting systems, including optics, assist gas, and nozzle components.
  • Support the installation, calibration, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Perform equipment inspections and document maintenance activities in CMMS or maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify root causes and prevent recurring issues.
  • Assist with facility and process improvement projects as needed.
  • Ensure all work complies with company safety standards and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with lasers (Trumpf preferred), hydraulic presses, and pneumatic systems required.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical systems, PLCs, and relay logic is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed to support production demands.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or trade school training preferred.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 50lbs.; occasionally heavier loads with mechanical assistance.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and kneeling throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working around noise, heat, oil, and moving machinery.
  • May occasionally work at heights, in tight spaces, or during extended shifts to support critical maintenance needs.
