Overview
Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and the Center Physician. This role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor safety and adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The position requires familiarity with regulations in the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment, and provides center-level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) as guided by Bio Life Medical Affairs.
This role is eligible for a $2,500 Sign-on bonus.
How you will contribute- You will determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- You will evaluate donor reactions as they occur at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency facilities.
- You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when there are unacceptable findings or guidance required on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, with reference to EHS guidance.
- You may serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as directed by EHS or Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of responsibilities (LPN or LVN)
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy (in-state licensure)
- Complete the FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

U.S. Hourly Wage Range$23.85 - $32.79
The estimated hourly wage reflects an anticipated range; actual offer depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, licenses, and location. Hourly wage will comply with state/local minimum wage requirements.
