Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Elkhart, IN (Fully Onsite)
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Elkhart, Indiana. This role is responsible for supporting cost analysis, pricing communication, and margin reporting to help drive operational and financial performance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cost accounting principles and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with logistics and operations teams. This position offers strong growth potential for individuals interested in developing into a future managerial role.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze product and operational costs to support pricing strategy and profitability initiatives

• Communicate pricing structures and cost drivers to internal stakeholders

• Perform margin analysis and provide insights on profitability trends

• Prepare and present variance reports comparing actual costs to budgets and forecasts

• Partner with logistics and operations teams to identify cost improvement opportunities

• Support month-end close activities related to cost accounting

• Assist with inventory valuation, cost allocations, and standard cost maintenance

• Develop financial models and reports to support decision-making

• Participate in process improvement initiatives across finance and operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 1–3 years of direct cost accounting experience

• Strong understanding of cost structures, variance analysis, and margin reporting

• Ability to clearly communicate financial and pricing information to non-finance stakeholders

• Advanced Excel and analytical skills

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work cross-functionally with logistics, operations, and finance teams

• Desire and potential to grow into a future leadership or managerial role

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment

• Familiarity with ERP systems and cost accounting modules
