Overview
We are seeking a CAD Design Engineer with Battery Pack experience to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will design cutting-edge battery pack solutions and deliver high-quality technical outputs throughout the quotation, concept, and development phases
. You will collaborate closely with Core and Extended Teams to shape next-generation energy storage systems while contributing to the development of new design tools, methods, and technical standards
.
- System Design
:
Define battery pack architectures based on product functionality, customer requirements, and manufacturing constraints. Evaluate and optimize technical and economic trade-offs to deliver competitive and reliable solutions. - Design Studies & Technical Justification
:
Perform detailed design studies
, including stack-up analysis and mechanical calculations. Integrate simulation and analysis results into robust design solutions. Deliver high-quality CAD outputs
, including 3D models and detailed drawings, within project timelines. Define functional requirements for battery pack components in collaboration with internal teams and suppliers, including MSDE, Purchasing, CDE, and Laboratory groups. Support supplier interactions to ensure design intent, manufacturability, and quality standards are met. - Cross-Functional Innovation & Continuous Improvement
:
Contribute to the development and enhancement of design tools, guidelines, and best practices
. Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase design efficiency, quality, and standardization across projects.
Education & Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical background.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
- Strong proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA and/or UG NX
. - Proven experience in battery pack design and related manufacturing processes.
- Solid knowledge of ISO standards
, including GD&T and stack-up analysis. - Experience designing plastic and metallic components
. - Understanding of thermal management
, electronics
, and electrical harnessing within battery systems. - Familiarity with CAD quality tools (e.g., QChecker),
PLM systems
, and Design FMEA methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with high attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt quickly, listen actively, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Experience working in automotive, EV, or energy storage environments.
- Exposure to quotation-phase engineering and customer-facing technical discussions.
