About the Practice

EGH Anesthesia is a dynamic, hospital-based practice offering a unique blend of clinical autonomy and collaborative leadership. Our anesthesiologists rotate between sitting their own cases and serving as the board-runner or float anesthesiologist, ensuring seamless perioperative care and operational efficiency.

Our team includes three dedicated anesthesiologists. When not sitting your own case, the float anesthesiologist plays a pivotal role in:

  • Overseeing patient flow from pre-operative evaluation through PACU discharge
  • Addressing pre-op and post-op concerns promptly and effectively
  • Responding to operating room urgencies and emergencies
  • Coordinating daily room assignments and enforcing early-out schedules
  • Collaborating with OR leadership to align resources and optimize daily operations
  • Performing nerve blocks and other similar responsibilities

We operate within a high-functioning care team model, supported by skilled and independent CRNAs. With a supervision ratio of 1:7, our CRNAs are trusted partners in care delivery and maintain a collegial relationship with our physicians. An attending anesthesiologist is always present in-house whenever anesthesia is being administered.

Obstetric anesthesia is fully managed by CRNAs, who provide 24/7 coverage for Labor & Delivery, allowing our anesthesiologists to focus exclusively on surgical cases.

On any given weekday, we support up to eight anesthetizing locations, offering a diverse and engaging clinical environment.
