Staff accountant

Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Elkhart, IN (Fully Onsite)
Salary Range: $50,000 – $65,000

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Elkhart, Indiana. This role will support the accounting and finance team with financial reporting, cost analysis, and operational support. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of overall accounting experience and an interest in developing stronger skills in cost accounting, margin analysis, and financial reporting. This position offers a strong foundation for career growth, including the opportunity to grow into more senior or managerial roles over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

• Support preparation of financial reports and account reconciliations

• Assist with cost tracking and analysis to support pricing and operational decisions

• Help prepare margin analysis and variance reports to identify trends and performance drivers

• Support communication of pricing structures and cost-related information to internal teams

• Partner with logistics and operations teams to help monitor costs and identify efficiencies

• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with general ledger activities

• Contribute to process improvements within accounting and operational workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 1–3 years of overall accounting experience

• Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations and logistics

• Interest in developing skills in cost accounting and financial analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or exposure to manufacturing, distribution, or operational accounting environments

• Experience working with ERP or accounting software
