Job Title: Tax Manager (Sturgis & Elkhart Offices)
Location: Sturgis & Elkhart, IN
Salary: $60,000 - $90,000 (commensurate with experience)

We are looking for a dedicated Tax Manager with a passion for client service and leadership to manage our Sturgis and Elkhart offices.
Position OverviewThe Tax Manager will oversee and manage tax preparation and compliance for a diverse client base, including C and S Corporations, LLCs, partnerships, and individuals. This position requires someone with at least 5 years of experience in tax preparation and review, including both corporate and individual tax returns. You will lead a team of professionals, ensure efficient workflow, and provide mentorship while reviewing complex tax returns.
The ideal candidate will have a CPA or be on track to obtain their CPA certification.
- Prepare and review corporate (C and S Corporation) tax returns.
- Prepare and review individual tax returns (1040s) and related filings (W2s, etc.).
- Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals, including delegating tasks and providing coaching and feedback.
- Review complex tax filings to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, changes in legislation, and best practices.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing expert tax planning and advice.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering proactive solutions to their tax and financial needs.
- Coordinate and manage multiple tax preparation assignments, ensuring deadlines are met and work is of the highest quality.
- Assist in developing and implementing office-wide tax strategies and business plans.
- Conduct staff training and development to enhance the team’s knowledge and capabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to tax compliance and firm operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required).
- CPA certification (or in progress) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation, with a strong background in corporate tax (C and S corporations) and individual tax filings (1040s).
- Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
