Shift at our facility in Elk River
, Minnesota

- Starting Base Pay Range: $29 - $35/hour (based on experience)
PLUS
an additional $5/hour weekend shift differential! - Shift/
Work Hours:
Weekend Shift;
Friday-Sunday, 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM (36 hours per pay period &
overtime paid after 36 hours
)
As a Machinist at M&M Precision Machining
, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting CNC machines to produce precision components for a variety of industries. This position requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and experience setting up and operating Milling, Swiss, and/or Multi-Function Lathe machines.
- Interpret blueprints, setup sheets, route sheets, and customer specifications.
- Select, install, and adjust proper tooling for job requirements.
- Perform full machine setups on CNC Milling, Swiss, and/or Multi-Function Lathe machines.
- Edit CNC programs as needed to ensure optimal performance and part accuracy.
- Lead materials, run production parts, and perform tool offsets and adjustments.
- Troubleshoot machining issues to improve cycle times, surface finishes, and part quality.
- Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, etc.) to verify part conformance.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records per company standards.
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure consistent quality throughout production runs.
- Identify and communicate deviations, defects, or process issues promptly.
- Recommend tooling, processes, or program improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all 5S and safety guidelines.
- Assist with training and/or supporting machine operators, as needed.
- Collaborate with supervisors/managers, leadership, programmers, and engineering to resolve machining challenges.
- Follow all safety policies and immediately report unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and respect.
- Ensure adherence to standardized work instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a technical degree, apprenticeship, or formal training in CNC Machining from a trade school or technical college is preferred.
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience on Mills, Swiss, and/or Multi-Function Lathes is required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and inspection documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in editing CNC programs.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools accurately (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must supply own basic tools and measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal support/supervision.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally, and in writing.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move between workstations for the majority of the 12 hour shift.
- Regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and tooling weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and use of hands to handle tools, parts, and equipment.
- Compliance with all required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.).
- Starting Base Pay Range: $29 - $35/hour (based on experience)
