Overview
Our values start with our people, join a team that values you! Ross Stores – Area Supervisor. Responsible for opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining a safe, clean, and well merchandised environment, executing merchandising, loss prevention, and front end operations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment by maintaining awareness, correcting unsafe conditions, securing building entrance/exit, EAS devices, cash office, carrier pick-ups, register area, removing clutter, customer safety, and testing fire alarms.
- Treating all customers, associates, and other leaders with respect and demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
- Representing and supporting the company brand, maintaining a professional appearance, and ensuring all associates adhere to the company dress code and maintain cleanliness, merchandising, and daily trash removal.
- Executing merchandising standards: recovering, sizing, and markdowning merchandise, receiving merchandise, processing, managing stockrooms, placing merchandise on the sales floor, managing back‑stock, preventing loss, complying with presentation guidelines, and performing floor moves, signing, rewraps.
- Leading loss prevention awareness and store loss prevention functions, maintaining presence, cash and credit security, PVM system, and code package inspections.
- Supervising front end operations: training cash registers, shortage control, break schedule, equipment, supplies, go‑backs, scanning and bagging, salability, aisle tables, and specialty racks.
- Maintaining fitting rooms: cleanliness, garment tag audit, and go‑back compliance.
- Completing administrative duties: cash pulls, bank deposits, front end control policies, payroll administration, scheduling compliance, Sunday payroll transmission, payroll reporting, and other duties.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC; spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store; regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.; use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies. Associates who work stockroom shifts must regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 lbs.
SalaryBase pay $18.00 – $18.50 per hour.
