Overview
Sacramento Credit Union is seeking candidates who thrive as leaders and excel at providing exceptional customer service for our Branch Manager III position at our Elk Grove branch. The Branch Manager is responsible for sales activities including mortgage loan originations; planning, managing, overseeing the branch's marketing and business development; and managing and developing staff to support the sales and service goals of the organization.
Under minimal supervision, provides management, sales and functional support; monitors reports, and develops policy and procedural improvements. This position requires knowledge of credit union/banking operations, laws and regulations, and consumer and mortgage loan origination and processing principles.
- Creates and implements strategies and inspires a highly efficient and productive branch team focused on opportunities and highlighting features and benefits of our products and services to support member service, promotions, and objectives to achieve financial goals.
- Develops leads for and originates mortgage and consumer loans based in part on referral sources (i.e. branch staff, members and outside sources) and reports.
- As a Mortgage Loan Originator, must register with NMLS Registry and keep registration information current.
- Builds, trains, coaches and leads an engaged team through employee development.
- Oversees human resource processes for all direct reports, including appraisals, disciplinary actions, individual development plans, career development, training, interviews, termination, etc.
- Provides resource support and assistance in areas such as new account and loan production, balancing branch cash, ATMs and searching for outages.
- Develops and implements branch business and community development plans which identify, target, and market the Credit Union to potential fields of membership within the branch’s demographic and local community.
- Plans, organizes and participates in branch outbound call efforts. Ensures all team members follow up on active member outreach (i.e. phone calls, emails, etc.).
- Oversees, assists, and partners with the Assistant Branch Manager (and/or Branch Lead) to ensure internal processes and controls are well established.
- Compiles, analyzes and tracks data for operational, production, and any special reporting.
- Maintains working relationships and communication with staff, management and executive management. Participates in and conducts staff meetings to review financial objectives and other activities.
- Maintains knowledge and adheres to all SCU’s policies and procedures, rules and regulations for the branch, including robbery, Bank Secrecy Act and Money Laundering policies and procedures.
- May occasionally be requested to fill in at another branch location.
- Ensures the physical maintenance and appearance of the facilities.
- Completes required training as assigned by the Credit Union.
- Performs other related duties and special projects assigned.
- Be a Notary.
- Bachelor's Degree in business or the equivalent in related work experience.
- Ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with all levels of the organization and business contacts.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage people.
- Demonstrated progressive experience in sales, preferably in a financial institution.
- Demonstrated experience in mortgage origination is preferred.
- Knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of loan principles and practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of human resources policies, procedures, issues and regulations.
- Demonstrated computer skills and familiarity with software programs such as Word, Excel and others such as Meridian Link Loans PQ and core systems software.
