The primary purpose of Inventory Specialist is to maintain accurate computer records of the warehouse inventory. Additionally, inventory control personnel make sure the inventory is properly stored and protected.
Essential Functions:
- Cycle counting and reconciliation.
- Evaluation of product flow throughout the warehouse.
- Product location maintenance. Moving material locations and product.
- Inventory dimensional data scanning and record keeping.
- Confirmation of inventory including discrepancies. Making adjustments as necessary.
- Correcting inventory records in the event of inventory discrepancies that prohibit processing the order as written.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks as assigned.
- High school graduate.
- 2 years of inventory control experience within a warehouse environment; preferably a distribution warehouse.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to become forklift certified, preferably previous forklift experience
- Sit down, stand up, stock picker
- Prior experience working with a computerized inventory management system.
- Fluent English – verbal and written.
- Ability to work well with personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to cross train between warehouse departmental functions.
- Stand on concrete surface for extended length of time.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds including large bulky items.
- Bending and twisting motions required.
- Pushing and pulling fully loaded manual pallet jacks and carts.
