Automatic Forging Cell Set‑Up Operator

Overview

Own the Forge Cell from Set‑Up to Smooth Run. At the start of your day, you’ll take responsibility for preparing and running an automated forging system. You coordinate closely with an Impacter Operator Assistant (helper) for tasks like die changeovers and material movement, and you’re backed by on‑call maintenance professionals to keep production on track.

• Use the overhead crane to retrieve bundles of steel from storage.
• Configure the automatic forging system to match the required product specifications.
• Verify the proper function of each system component before and during production.
• Complete pre‑operation preventive maintenance and safety checks following the established checklist.
• Record daily inspection results and operating data on the required log sheets.
• Keep machines and surrounding work areas orderly and clean.
• Assist maintenance with teardown, repair, and reassembly tasks when directed.
• Help train new team members as needed.
• Operate a forklift when required.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by supervision.

• Comfort with shop math, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Skill using precision tools such as vernier calipers and micrometers.
• Strong follow‑through on detailed instructions and procedures.
• Sound judgment to make on‑the‑spot decisions during production.
• Working knowledge of the English language.
