Lead the team responsible for the upkeep of buildings and grounds, repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery, and modifications to the structure or layout of the facility. Work with vendors, monitor inventory of supplies, organize work, estimate worker‑hour requirements, and delegate work among employees in the CNC room, Die Room, and Maintenance department. Initiate or recommend personnel actions and administer the organization’s policy.
Background:
High school education or equivalent required and five to seven years experience leading people.
Die Room:
Supervise employees who construct, maintain, calibrate, and repair machine shop tools, jigs, fixtures, instruments, and dies. Supervise while operating various machine tools, performing highly‑skilled work such as arranging, fitting, and assembling parts. Assist designers and engineers in development work, including skilled fitting, timing, adjustment, and construction of tools, ensuring the construction, repair, maintenance, and calibration of dies needed to support production goals.
CNC Room:
Supervise employees who use EDM sinkers, CNC machines, precision tools, jigs, fixtures, instruments, and dies. Assist designers and engineers in development work, including fitting of trim tooling, adjustment, and construction of fixtures, ensuring timely production of forge, trim and coin tooling to support production goals.
Maintenance:
Oversee the overall plant maintenance program to ensure control of maintenance and repair costs. Monitor and initiate necessary action to maintain or improve equipment operating efficiency. Own the usage of the “on‑line preventive maintenance” (eMent) system. Investigate, compare, and recommend new service vendors. Evaluate cost and time‑effective alternatives for repairs.
Leadership:
Develop, mentor and coach employees to accomplish company goals, including performance planning and appraisals. Recommend or determine hiring, disciplinary and termination actions. Responsible for 14‑16 direct reports. Drive results and provide focus and clarity to team members. Assist in developing company policies and interact with customers to ensure requirements are met.
Safety:
Maintain adherence to safety and housekeeping requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary range: $86,446-$129,669. In addition, you’re eligible for competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Klein Tools Inc.
