Our industry-leading client is hiring a Curtain Wall CAD Drafter for a permanent, full-time opportunity in Elk Grove Village, IL.

The Curtain Wall CAD Drafter is responsible for producing detailed shop drawings for curtain wall and storefront systems, ensuring precision in design and structural coordination. Key duties include developing floor plans, elevations, and fabrication drawings while maintaining compliance with architectural and structural specifications.

This role involves collaborating with engineers, project managers, and production teams throughout the project life cycle. The Curtain Wall CAD Drafter will also assist in creating and maintaining BIM models and product literature. We are preferably looking for candidates with experience in unitized curtain wall systems. This position requires strong proficiency in AutoCAD, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret architectural and structural plans accurately.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Have worked for a Glazing Contractor or Curtain Wall Manufacturer
• Ability to read architectural and structural plans
• Experience in curtain wall design
• Familiarity with Revit and Inventor (a plus)
• Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Understanding of standard drafting practices
• Strong communication and follow-through skills
• Must reside in the Chicago Metropolitan area

Job Description:

• Produce curtain wall and storefront shop drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and details
• Interpret and coordinate structural calculations with shop drawings
• Develop fabrication drawings
• Create and maintain BIM models
• Generate and update product literature
• Perform additional duties as assigned
