Job Overview

We are seeking a hands‑on Safety Leader who partners closely with operations to embed safety into daily work and address issues independently. This is not an advisory role—you will be highly visible on the floor and fully accountable for owning and driving the safety program end to end.

Responsibilities
  • Build positive, collaborative relationships at all levels of the site to create a zero‑incident culture.
  • Establish a behavior‑based safety culture by coaching supervisors and employees in safe work practices, hazard identification, and risk management.
  • Lead a safety committee.
  • Provide leadership and vision in the plant for all EHS and sustainability‑related matters.
  • Develop and manage EHS training and provide personal protective equipment.
  • Manage the safety data sheet process and regulated reporting.
  • Establish facility‑specific environmental management plans.
  • Implement applicable EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules.
  • Complete risk assessments and recommend controls.
  • Lead incident and near‑miss reporting and root cause analysis.
  • Oversee workers’ compensation program and return‑to‑work programs.
  • Build a contractor management and visitor safety program.
  • Ensure machine safety and ergonomic evaluations.
  • Oversee emergency response training and readiness.
  • Lead continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
  • Own data tracking and reporting to deliver timely safety, environmental, and risk metrics.
  • Develop a path to 2030–2050 sustainability goals for the plant/BU.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of EHS experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in occupational safety, environmental reporting, and regulations.
  • Experience with OSHA, EPA, and TCEQ regulations.
  • Experience delivering EHS training programs.
  • Project management and stakeholder communications experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS‑related applications.

  • Process & Project Management – lead continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Critical Thinking – evaluate complex situations and implement corrective actions.
Preferences
  • Degree concentration in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
  • Professional certification(s) such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, or Train‑the‑Trainer.
  • Experience with site audits, JHAs/JSAs, and contractor audits.
  • Experience with TRI and Tier II reporting.
  • Knowledge of Gensuite application.
Travel & Work Arrangements

Position is onsite and requires minimal travel, less than 15%.
