About the Opportunity
We’re seeking an energetic, hands-on Quality Engineer to join our growing Quality Engineering Team. In this role, you’ll lead internal quality assurance initiatives for assigned customers, drive continuous improvement, and support new product introductions (NPI). You’ll be a key contributor in maintaining customer satisfaction, meeting PPM targets, and ensuring compliance with AS9100D and ISO 9001 standards.

Your work will span across metrology, process control, supplier quality, and customer support—making you a central part of our commitment to precision and excellence.

What You’ll Do

Metrology & Inspection Systems

  • Develop, validate, and optimize measurement methods using CMMs, surface finish testers, and precision instruments.

  • Ensure all gaging and measurements conform to ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.

  • Provide technical guidance on selecting and implementing measurement tools for machined components.

Advanced Quality Planning

  • Create and maintain FMEAs, control plans, PPAPs, and process flow diagrams for new and existing products.

  • Support APQP activities to ensure robust process controls from prototype through production.

Quality System Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100D, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.

  • Prepare for and support internal, customer, and third-party audits.

Process Improvement

  • Lead structured problem-solving efforts using 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa methodologies.

  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to implement process controls, reduce variation, and improve Cp/Cpk performance.

Customer & Supplier Interface

  • Communicate with customers regarding quality issues, corrective actions, and quality plans.

  • Support supplier quality improvement initiatives, including supplier audits and incoming inspection processes.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3–5+ years of quality engineering experience in precision machining, aerospace, or defense manufacturing.

  • Proficiency in FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and control plan documentation.

  • Strong metrology background and CMM programming experience (PC-DMIS or similar).

  • Solid understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and AS9100D quality standards.

  • Experience in SPC, capability studies, and statistical analysis.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven success using structured root cause analysis tools like 8D.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification.

  • Experience with Minitab or similar statistical software.

  • Familiarity with special processes (e.g., NADCAP plating, heat treatment, coatings).

  • Experience with ERP/MES quality modules, preferably Made2
