Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 during night shifts

• 24 hours of orientation provided

• 2 years of recent experience required

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH (prior to assignment)

• Epic charting system experience required

• Must be comfortable with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

• O2 protocol management and non-invasive airway management

• Management of cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and insulin protocols

• Peripheral and central line care/management

• Blood product administration and isolation precaution/PPE protocols

• Care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, neuro, and respiratory diagnoses

• Participate in rapid response team activation

• Float to different units in rotation with staff

• Call requirements in rotation with staff

• Weekend coverage as needed (usually every third in rotation)

• Handle special procedures including cardioversions, post pacemaker care, post cath recovery, stroke NIHSS assessments, bedside thoracentesis

• Work with specialized equipment including BiPAP and AIRVO

• Self-scheduling system

• Must be located more than 75 miles from facility to qualify for travel rates

The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams.
