Description:
Locums Hematology Oncology Opportunity in Elizabethtown, KY where Inpatient/Outpatient coverage with call is needed. Here are some of the details:
Start Date: As soon as credential led, 2024
- Ongoing
- Clinic
Hours:
Monday
- Friday: 8a-4:30p - Every other week, potential for a 3 rd week starting September. Consistent coverage is key.
- Call week runs Mon 8am
-Mon 8am. The providers take their own call during the day and the actual call hours start when our clinic closes at 430 and opens back up a 8 am.
Candidate Requirements:
- Board Certified in BOTH Hematology and Oncology: REQUIRED
- If completed a combined Hem/Onc fellowship they are only required to be boarded in Hem or Onc: REQUIRED
- Active KY license or IMLC: REQUIRED
- Clean Malpractice Record: REQUIRED
Position Details:
- Looking for ongoing coverage
- Inpatient/Outpatient
- Outpatient during the day in clinic and Inpatient for rounding or call if needed. - Infusion center so will be taking patients for chemo and immunotherapy.
- Nurses administer Chemo
- Provider overseas the Infusion Center
- Mostly will need assistance with new hematology consults and follow up of established hem and Onc patents. An example would be our stable breast patients that are currently on Arimidex or Tamoxifen or Immunotherapy.
- Adult and Geriatric. No PEDS
- Locum to see patient that is stable on treatment in the event their primary oncologist is not available and asking that once a treatment plan is established that treatment plan does not change.
- Coverage for new and follow-up Hematology consults.
- Complex treatment patients will be seen by a staff MD in the practice.
- Will have a MA to room their patients
- Percentage of Hem vs Onc :
It will vary week to week depending on if a provider is on call I would say Percentage of Hem vs Onc:
Hem: 75% Onc: 25% - Will not be required to admit
