Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment requiring a NJ or compact license, BLS, ACLS, NIH certification, and prior MS/Tele experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit

• Cares for patients with CHF, stroke, renal failure with fluid overload, stable non-STEMI, and post cardiac cath/post staged-PCI

• Required to read rhythm strips and intervene appropriately

• Staff to patient ratio is 1:5-7

• Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)

• Every other weekend required

• Floating to Med/Surg and other units based on hospital needs

• Uses Allscripts and EPIC EMR systems

• Main patient diagnoses include cardiac, neurological, and renal conditions

• First time travelers are not preferred

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

• Scrub color is navy blue

• Facility does not accept travel pairs

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required

• Must be able to read rhythm strips

• RWJBH staff (full time or PRN) must not have worked at RWJBH within the past year
