Position Overview

Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – American Family Care (Urgent Care, Elizabeth, NJ)

Job Type:
Part Time / Per Diem

Schedule:

4‑hour, 6‑hour, 9‑hour or 12‑hour shifts; weekdays 8 am–8 pm, weekends 8 am–5 pm.

Compensation:
Hourly rate competitive plus malpractice insurance; annual salary range $100,000–$150,000.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality medical care for urgent care and occupational medicine patients.
  • Actively manage all aspects of patient care while on‑shift.
  • Supervise and direct other clinical staff at the center.
  • Accurately complete all charts in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to clinical policies and protocols.
  • Perform suturing of lacerations, abscess drainage, minor fracture fixation, and X‑ray interpretation.
  • Mentor clinical staff.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner (PA or NP) with an active medical license in New Jersey.
  • Board certification in family practice or the specialty appropriate to the provider.
  • A.C.L.S. and D.O.T. certifications.
  • New Jersey CDSS card and federal DEA license.
  • Prior urgent care experience (preferred).
  • Familiarity with occupational medicine.
  • Comfort treating patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
  • Clean malpractice record.
  • Effective and compassionate communication skills with staff, patients, and families.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High‑energy, positive attitude and passion for patient care.
Additional Information

Position may be located in a company‑owned or franchise‑owned site. Each site recruits, hires, and manages its own workforce.
