A Patient Transporter transports patients and patient associated items as requested throughout hospital stay or to departure lounge and to vehicle for discharge to ensure customer service and throughput needs are met. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Job Description- Use EMR/tracking software system to safely transport patients to various areas as requested, using proper equipment, verifying patient name, date of birth, room number and destination, and documenting such. Notify responsible party upon arrival and report any medical problem, keeping all patient information confidential. Practice good hand hygiene.
- Maintain and disinfect departmental equipment such as stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, equipment rooms and lounge chairs.
- Follow applicable safety steps required to perform duties to ensure safety for yourself and patients, in compliance with Healthcare system, state and federal safety standards. Perform proper safety procedures and precautions, report safety concerns and incidents, use correct lifting techniques (minimal lift & maxi slides), and dispose of sharps and infectious waste properly.
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the effective and efficient operation of the department.
- High School Graduate, GED, or general education requirements for the country that education was obtained

- Ability to work independently, interdependently, and set priorities
