Job OverviewThe Mental Health Worker provides care to individuals with mental or emotional conditions or disabilities under the direction of nurses and physicians. The Mental Health Worker closely monitors patients' physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff.
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor's degree, or AIMS MHA Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
Preferred:
- Previousexperienceworkingwithpsychiatricand/orsubstanceabusepatients
- Previousexperienceinpsychologyorsociology
- Shift working, 11pm-7am
- FT
- Monitoring vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure
- Perform EKGs
- Draw labs and collect specimens from patients
- Assist patients in their daily activities such as: eating, dressing, and bathing
- Provide therapeutic groups and recreational activities to patients
- Assist in non-violent crisis intervention
- Assistsinorientingnewstaff members
Participates inpatient/staff meetings, and groupandcommunity meetings
