CMM Programmer

We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to join a Quality team within a fast-paced aluminum casting manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing, validating, and maintaining CMM programs used to inspect complex cast and machined components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate brings strong GD&T knowledge, experience working with cast geometries, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.

• Develop and optimize CMM programs for aluminum castings and machined components
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D CAD models
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and capability studies
• Analyze dimensional inspection data and provide feedback to manufacturing
• Support root cause investigations for nonconforming products
• Generate and maintain inspection reports and quality documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and customer requirements

• Inspection of complex cast geometries, including draft angles, thin walls, and critical datums
• Understanding of casting tolerances, shrink factors, and distortion
• Awareness of surface finish considerations during probing

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of CMM programming experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience inspecting cast or machined components
• Proficiency with CMM software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5
• Experience with SPC and dimensional analysis

• Experience supporting AS9102 First Article Inspection
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems
• Experience preparing documentation for customer or regulatory audits
