Job Title:
Lab Technician
Perform routine testing on oil samples using the Penskey-Martens Closed Cup Flash Point, BS&W by Centrifuge, and pH meters. Conduct wet chemistry and oil testing following standard operating procedures (SOPs) while ensuring accurate record-keeping and documentation for all testing results.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine testing on oil samples using specified equipment and methods.
- Perform wet chemistry and oil testing according to SOPs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of testing results.
- Proficiency in chemistry-related tasks.
- Experience with pH meters and laboratory equipment.
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Chemistry.
- 2+ years of experience in BS&W, Flash Point, pH, and Total Halogens testing.
- Experience with Dexsil Test Kit and wet chemistry.
Skills & Qualifications
- Open-minded and takes initiative.
- Comfortable with multi-tasking.
The work environment is a small lab where safety goggles and gloves are required. The position follows a Monday to Friday shift from 8 am/9 am to 4 pm/5 pm. The team is experienced with a long tenure, having been established since 1957, and collaborates with large utility companies. Employees report to designated supervisors.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elizabeth, NJ.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
