LES Secondary Academic Support Teacher

* ** Temporary tutor responsibilities may be assigned.**
* ** Participation in safeguarding systems is expected.**
* ** Monitoring student wellbeing and behaviour forms part of the role.**
* ** Support of assemblies and pastoral initiatives is required.**
* ** Attendance at parent meetings may occur in a supporting capacity.**
* ** Break and lunchtime supervision, corridor and transition duties**
* ** Supervised study periods and detentions where appropriate**
* ** Library and study support**
* ** Examination invigilation**
* ** Support for school events, trips, parents meetings or other operational activities**
* ** QTS (Qualified teacher Status) or PGCE**
* ** Degree or equivalent in relevant subjects(s)**
* ** Good up-to-date subject knowledge and practical skills**
* ** Successful secondary teaching experience**
* ** Ability to motivate children of differing abilities**
* ** Knowledge of the National Curriculum and exam specifications**
* ** Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies**
* ** Ability to work under pressure and prioritize effectively**
* ** Enthusiasm and a passion for learning**
* ** A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all staff, pupils and parents and promoting the ethos and values of the school**
* ** An approachable manner and excellent interpersonal skills
