A specialized teaching position is available within a K-12 school setting located in Elizabeth, NJ, focused on supporting students with special education needs. This contract role for the current school year involves collaboration with staff to address specific individualized education program (IEP) requirements and manage a diverse caseload of students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction tailored to students with special education needs across grades K-12
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) in coordination with the educational team
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and administrative staff to support student progress
• Maintain clear documentation regarding student performance, accommodations, and modifications
• Engage in regular communication with parents and guardians concerning student development and needs
• Participate in meetings addressing special education service delivery and caseload management

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Valid special education teaching certification appropriate for K-12 students
• Experience working with a range of disabilities within a general or special education setting
• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations
• Effective communication and organizational skills, especially in managing individualized caseloads
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide evidence-based instructional strategies
