Description of Work
This is a temporary employment opportunity for non-students. Multiple temporary assignments may be filled from this posting.
Conduct regular security rounds inside of the assigned Residential Hall and investigate any disturbances;
Maintain a safe & secure Residence Hall environment for on campus students and their guests;
Assist University Police, Residence Hall Staff, & other University Officials in student &/or building related emergencies;
Assist Residence Hall staff and University Police in the enforcement of University and Housing & Residence Life Departmental Policies;
Assist in maintaining a clean environment inside the residence hall during all hours. Assist in monitoring and enforcing the Residence Life Visitation Policies;
Make appropriate communication with the Live In Administrators of each assigned Residence Hall about student and visitor related issues;
Maintain professional working relationships with students, Residence Life staff, and other University Officials;
Complete and submit on duty log reports;
Submit Incident reports through the university web site;
Report facilities related work orders;
Greet students, answer phones, check in student visitors, complete reports, and make rounds to ensure doors are secured. Must have a willingness to work flexible/rotating shifts;
Other duties as instructed by the Live In Administrator of the assigned Residence Hall;
Attend and actively participate in all required training sessions.
Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position
High School Diploma or equivalence;
Experience working in a residence hall setting is preferred but not required;
Background in security and or related field;
Strong communication skills (written and oral);
Excellent Computer skills;
Must be able to work any of the following shifts: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 5:00 pm to 12:00 am, and 12:00 am to 8:00 am, weekdays and weekends;
Available to work 24 hours per week (part time temporary)
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Management Preferences
Experience working in a residence hall setting is preferred. Security experience preferred but not required.
