Warehouse Department Lead

Location: United States of America – Elgin, Illinois

Department: Warehouse Operations

Reports to: Warehouse Department Supervisor/Manager

Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly

Under general supervision, the Warehouse Department Lead will lead department operations to meet daily requirements, business goals, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include safety awareness, order consolidation, picking, packing, replenishment, shipping, receiving, inventorying, and re‑warehousing, ensuring timely completion to maintain departmental standards and objectives.

• Loads and unloads trailers, scans merchandise, builds pallets, and labels products.
• Picks, packs, and merges orders; re‑bags, re‑tickets, replenishes, and stocks merchandise as needed.
• Verifies accuracy of production or location and may set or assign product locations.
• Performs manual, computer or RF data entry functions.
• Manages workflow based on available workload/orders.
• Communicates with leads from other departments; documents issues and reports to management.
• Provides training, ensures accuracy, and maintains productivity levels.
• Adheres to company policies, department training guidelines, best practices, and operating procedures.
• Maintains a neat and clean work area and complies with the location dress code and safety guidelines.
• Ensures equipment and department supplies are maintained.

• Ability to follow instructions and take directions; perform tasks consistently and accurately.
• Basic reading, writing, math, and computer operations.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Teamwork and effective interaction with others.

• Ability to safely operate hand and power equipment according to procedure.

• Generally requires a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of related experience.

• High School Diploma preferred or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.

Requires standing, walking, climbing stairs, using hands and fingers, bending, stooping, reaching, and occasionally lifting or moving materials and products up to 60 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Moderate noise; hectic, fast‑paced with multi‑level distractions; may be required to wear safety equipment and company uniforms, closed‑toed shoes; ability to work extended hours as required.
