Position Overview
As a Store Manager Trainee you will train on all aspects of running a store in preparation for managing your own location. Responsibilities include supervising day‑to‑day store activities, ensuring store performance, managing schedules, developing operational action plans and mentoring the team.

Potential Earnings Year 1: Up to $102,000 (inclusive of salary and bonus when applicable)

- Supervise day‑to‑day operations and team performance to provide the highest level of customer service.
- Communicate and model company strategy and core values to foster teamwork.
- Handle customer concerns and ensure appropriate resolution.
- Maintain proper store signage and product quality and freshness.
- Assist in hiring by reviewing resumes, application and interviewing candidates.
- Prepare and revise weekly schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
- Conduct store meetings and identify training and development opportunities.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend personnel for advancement or termination as appropriate.
- Achieve store payroll and loss budgets.
- Manage cash audits in accordance with company guidelines.
- Monitor community competition and recommend adjustments to maintain a competitive position.
- Provide product feedback to direct leader regarding new items or discontinuations.
- Ensure a safe environment by identifying hazards, maintaining proper ergonomics and equipment working order.
- Oversee product merchandising and maintain proper stock levels through appropriate ordering.
- Conduct store inventory counts and reconciliations per company guidelines.
- Comply with all established company policies and procedures while upholding security and confidentiality of documents and data.
- Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; able to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk throughout the store.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
- Ability to develop rapport, trust and open communication to enhance growth and job performance of direct reports.
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
- Ability to establish goals and guide employee performance to ensure quality and completion of work assignments.
- Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others.
- Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs and expenses.
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, cardboard baler and perform general cleaning duties to company standards.
- Ability to stay organized and multi‑task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail.
- Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
- Prior management experience preferred.
Full‑time store manager trainees may train at multiple locations and must have flexibility to travel within divisional requirements.
