Job Description
The Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that food safety and quality standards are consistently met. This position involves performing required testing on both raw materials and finished goods, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and certifications in accordance with customer, state, and federal standards.

Responsibilities- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
- Perform routine chemical analysis on raw materials and finished products, including measurements of pH, moisture, salt, and fat content.
- Enter data and maintain records as required per laboratory SOPs.
- Assist with product sampling, inspection, testing, and other duties to support the hold and release program.
- Provide feedback to managers and the production team when quality-related discrepancies or violations need resolution.
- Participate in facility visits and audits, retrieving documentation as necessary during the audit process.
- Proficiency in laboratory, biology, and chemistry.
- Experience with pH testing and titration.
- Bachelor's degree in Science (biology, chemistry, food science, or related field) or previous experience in food manufacturing.
- Basic lab skills in pH, moisture, salt, and fat testing.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently.
- Quality control and food science knowledge.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in food manufacturing is beneficial.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
Contract to Hire position based out of ELGIN, IL.
Workplace Type:
This is a fully onsite position in ELGIN, IL.
Pay range: $18.00 - $18.00 per hour.
