Summary of JobWorks within the fulfillment department, ensuring that the secondary finishing of printed materials meets quality, budget, and schedule requirements within the budgeted headcount. This role requires set up and managing the run of multiple, 2 or more, machines simultaneously.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Production management: meet production goals and customer delivery deadlines while adhering to the Specified KPI’s
- Quality control: ensure all projects meet quality testing standards as well as customer specifications by performing inspections, ensuring required testing protocols are followed, and monitoring the finishing processes across multiple machines.
- Equipment oversight: learn to oversee the setup, operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of all fulfillment equipment, including drills, stitchers, and vacuum tables. Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Safety and compliance: enforce company PPE policy, safety procedures, and regulations, ensuring a safe and organized work environment. Conduct regular safety training and inspections.
- Communication and performance reporting: correctly fill in daily job performance tickets for SAP reconciliation and account for all machine up and down time.
- Process improvement: participate in cross‑functional teams to continuously improve production methods, efficiency, and quality. Work with the Continuous Improvement team and the fulfillment dept. team to create and follow standard operating procedures for set up and running of all equipment in the fulfillment center.
- Education and experience:
3‑5 years progressive experience in a printing or bindery environment. - Technical skills: strong knowledge of bindery processes and equipment, including operation, setup, and maintenance.
- Leadership abilities: proven track record of supervising and motivating teams to achieve production goals and managing production levels to specific KPI’s.
- Organizational skills: excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Communication: exceptional verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with staff and other departments.
- Problem‑solving: ability to troubleshoot equipment and production issues efficiently and effectively.
- Attention to detail: a keen eye for detail is critical for ensuring products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Physical demands: the role may require the ability to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy materials.
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis’s total compensation package. The hourly base pay range for this role is estimated to be $22‑$24.
