Production Lead

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities

The production lead is responsible for overseeing production processes, ensuring that production goals are met, and completing production orders while maintaining GMP and HACCP compliance. The lead supervises the production associates assigned to the line.

• Produce a quality product that meets all safety, SQF, and customer regulations.
• Coach, counsel, train, and develop associate skills.
• Establish efficient production processes for all company product lines.
• Assist in production as needed when short personnel.
• Regularly train associates in methods of improving production processes.
• Review the production schedule with line associates before shift start and communicate any changes in product, line changes, or material availability.
• Conduct shift huddles and communicate with other department supervisors and associates.
• Ensure all formulas, labels, tools, and equipment are ready prior to production start.
• Inspect production lines regularly to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices are followed.
• Maintain a clean production area free of waste, debris, and liquids to avoid safety hazards.
• Verify accurate documentation and material counts at shift end and complete all required tracking and data collection.
• Educate associates on proactive responses to downtime, rapid shift, and product changeovers.
• Maintain effective communication between personnel and shift supervisors.
• Identify significant issues related to quality, safety, downtime, and production problems.
• Lead and motivate associates to maximize productivity and minimize operating costs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• At least 2 years of leadership experience in production, preferably in the food industry or manufacturing; comparable training and experience may substitute the minimum qualifications.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Self‑directed with the ability to work without close supervision.
• Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
• Hardworking, dependable, and safety conscious.
• Certified forklift driver.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and train employees.
• Knowledgeable of SQF and OSHA regulations.

Ability to stand, walk, move, climb, carry, bend, kneel, crawl, reach, handle, push, and pull. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and remain safety conscious at all times.

Possession of a valid driver’s license.

USD $23.00 per hour plus experience.
