Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Summary of Job
The Maintenance Manager leads and oversees all maintenance activities within the manufacturing facility to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of production equipment, utilities, and building systems. This position manages a team of mechanical, electrical, and facilities technicians, driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs that maximize uptime, safety, and equipment performance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Supervise, train, and develop maintenance personnel including mechanics, electricians, and technicians.
- Establish clear goals and performance metrics aligned with plant objectives (OEE, MTTR, MTBF, etc.).
- Plan and assign daily maintenance work orders, ensuring efficient labor utilization.
- Lead shift handoff meetings and coordinate with operations to minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance activities using the CMMS system (e.g., Fiix, eMaint, SAP PM, or MP2).
- Manage and track work orders, inventory spare parts, and maintenance costs.
- Ensure all repairs and installations comply with OEM standards, OSHA, and NFPA requirements.
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement root cause corrective actions (RCCA).
- Partner with production, engineering, and quality to drive OEE improvement and line efficiency.
- Participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives and reliability-centered maintenance activities.
- Recommend equipment upgrades or modifications to improve safety, efficiency, or performance.
- Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and machine guarding standards.
- Maintain compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and participate in incident investigations.
- Ensure maintenance staff receive proper training and certifications for electrical and mechanical work.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget (labor, materials, and Cap Ex).
- Track and report maintenance KPIs, downtime, and asset performance.
- Work with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, service agreements, and projects.

- Proven track record in preventive/predictive maintenance and reliability improvement.
- Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM principles.
- Exposure to moving equipment.
- Inside work
- Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Humidity may exceed 80%
- Noise may exceed 85dB+
- Personal Protective Equipment required.
- Frequent standing, stooping, sitting
- Occasional typing/keyboarding

- Overtime expected per business demand.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
- 5-10 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing; 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems.
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis' total compensation package. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $115-$155K plus bonus.
