Responsible for the operational and fiscal management of the clinical laboratory and pathology, in accordance with established hospital and department policies and standards. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements mandated by appropriate State and Federal accrediting and licensing agencies. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe. Must be prepared to participate in bench testing as department needs require.
Perform routine laboratory testing to support the department as needed.
Education, Experience, Training
- Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
- ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1461).
- Five years of hospital laboratory work experience required.
- 2 Years of Laboratory Supervisory Experience required.
Saint Joseph Hospital – Elgin offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $81,016.00 to $ on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, considering factors such as skills, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
